Battery regeneration / refresh
Not every weak battery needs to be replaced straight away: with professional reconditioning or a battery refresh, the performance of certain batteries can be improved and their service life extended. We’ll assess whether reconditioning is technically feasible – and give you an honest assessment of when replacement is the better option.
  • checking whether a battery is suitable for regeneration or a refresh
  • regeneration in the event of declining performance, sulphation or uneven cell voltages
  • clear recommendation: refresh, repair or replacement

Our regeneration/refresh service is ideal for:
  • traction batteries with declining runtime
  • forklift batteries with uneven cell voltages
  • service batteries with reduced performance
  • batteries where replacement is not yet economically necessary

Overview of services

Our regeneration and refresh test helps to provide a realistic assessment of your battery’s condition and to make targeted use of any potential performance reserves.

Battery suitability test

We first check whether the battery is technically suitable for reconditioning, or whether damage, age or the condition of the cells make this inadvisable.

Measuring relevant battery parameters

Voltage, acid density, cell behaviour, state of charge and load capacity are tested to assess the battery’s actual condition.

Refresh when performance drops

With suitable batteries, a targeted refresh can help to improve capacity, runtime and charging behaviour.

Regeneration during sulphation

If sulphation is affecting performance, we assess whether regeneration is appropriate and economically viable.

Evaluation of individual cells

We check whether individual cells show any abnormalities and whether regeneration, cell replacement or repair is the better solution.

Clear recommendation

You will receive an honest assessment of whether regeneration is worthwhile – or whether replacement, repair or cell replacement make more economic sense.

When is regeneration advisable?

A regeneration or refresh may be worthwhile if the battery is generally still in good condition, but its performance and runtime have noticeably declined.

Recommended for:
  • a decline in runtime despite regular charging
  • inconsistent cell voltages without severe cell damage
  • early-stage sulphation
  • batteries with a generally intact structure
  • economically valuable traction or service batteries
  • batteries where replacement can still be avoided or postponed

When is regeneration not advisable?

Not every battery can be reconditioned in a way that makes economic or technical sense. In some cases, repair or replacement is the better option.

Not recommended in the following cases:
  • severely damaged or failed cells
  • mechanical damage to the battery tray or casing
  • severe corrosion on connectors, terminals or contacts
  • very old batteries with a significant loss of capacity
  • short circuits, cell-to-cell short circuits or safety-related damage
  • where the cost of reconditioning is disproportionate to the residual value

Service packages to suit every need

You decide how comprehensive the inspection and regeneration should be. From a quick suitability check to a detailed refresh treatment – transparent, easy to plan and tailored to your application.
Package 1

Suitability check

Ideal for quickly determining whether reconditioning is even worthwhile.
  • visual inspection of the battery
  • measurement of voltage and cell values
  • assessment of the battery’s overall condition
  • recommendation: reconditioning, repair or replacement

Package 2

Refresh check

For batteries with declining performance or an unclear service life.
  • ddvanced measurement of voltage, specific gravity and charging behaviour
  • assessment of cell variations and performance decline
  • test for regenerative capacity
  • test report with recommendations for action

Package 3

Full service regeneration

For suitable batteries where an improvement in performance appears to be economically viable.
  • comprehensive condition assessment
  • carrying out refresh or regeneration procedures
  • monitoring of charging and discharging behaviour
  • final assessment with measurement results
  • recommendations for maintenance, continued use or replacement planning

This is how regeneration / refresh works

A clear procedure ensures that, before any action is taken, a check is carried out to determine whether regeneration is actually worthwhile.

1. Enquiry & Clarification of the Problem

You provide us with the battery type, age, area of use and any issues such as short runtime, poor performance or charging problems.

2. Testing & Assessment

We measure the relevant battery parameters and assess whether the battery is technically and economically suitable for a refresh.

3. Regeneration / Refresh

For suitable batteries, we carry out the agreed measures to improve performance.

4. Final inspection & recommendation

After the refresh, we check the result and provide you with a clear recommendation regarding further use, maintenance or replacement.

Your advantages

Professional reconditioning can help extend the service life of batteries, reduce costs and enable better planning of replacement investments.

Save costs

If the battery is suitable, a refresh can be a cost-effective alternative to buying a new one straight away.

Extend service life

With the right measures, suitable batteries can be made more stable and more powerful again.

Clear decisions

You will find out in advance whether reconditioning is a viable option or whether repair or replacement is the better choice.

Sustainable management

By making sensible use of existing batteries, resources are conserved and unnecessary replacement is avoided.

Is regeneration a good idea or not?

We’d be happy to check your battery and give you an honest assessment of whether a refresh is a good idea – or whether cell replacement, repair or replacement would be a better solution.
